Is there anything terrible about The Banner Saga? Nope. But there are a few things that may be improved before the sequel comes out in April of 2016. The story, music, sound and animation are perfect. I don't usually say that for a game, but The Banner Saga deserves all the accolades that it has received. So what could possible be improved?
As always, if you want a less coherent version of my review, go to the video at the bottom of the page. I removed all of my bad words from the video ... for the children.
First off, lets talk about Steam Clean. Steam Clean is a new review series where I play games that have been sitting in my steam account for a very long time. These games are most likely irrelevant to the gaming world by this point, but I am playing them anyway because I paid for them during one of those addicting Steam sales.
Alice: Alice the Madness Returns is a phenomenal game. If you read bad reviews about it being repetitive or there are errors in how the character moves, punch those people in the hoo hoo. The game mechanics are fine. Its a platformer. That means the entire game is about jumping from platform to platform. Some times the jumps are difficult or frustrating. Well that's the point. You run around and jump on things ... over and over again. Alice breaks up this monotony in a number of ways. First is really cool paper art style cut scenes.

Someone over at Winged Cloud has done some serious research into what most gamers are looking for in a game. They have taken that knowledge and crafted one of the most phenomenal experiences in gaming history. When games first started out, they were very difficult. Young teens mashing mercilessly away on their controllers as they logged hours upon hours on their Nintendo Entertainment Systems. Games required you to memorize patterns and levels in order to navigate your way through to the end. If you lost your two extra lives ... game over. If you were lucky, the game had incorporated a continue or two. You knew that if you were about to enter a dungeon you made sure that you saved in the world map because the next six hour journey to the boss was not going to offer you an opportunity to save.

A coming of age story where people surmount life's most difficult challenges like a mother with cancer, a friend being paralyzed by a drunk driver or a disintegrating relationship with a parent. It sounds depressing but guess what? There's BOOBS!
I was oddly surprised with Sakura Swim Club. Having never read ("played") a visual novel before I wasn't quite sure what I was in for. I had played some choose your own adventure style games like Appointment with F.E.A.R. in which you design your character and make choices throughout the story. Your choices in these games have immediate consequences and often lead to dead ends. There are no dead ends in this. It is truly just a graphic novel on your computer. Your choices are menial and make no real difference in the story line other than a few new lines immediately after your choice. So let's break it down. Oh, if you don't care about reviews and just want to see the boobs head over to Digital Cans.

The story in Prince of Persia is pretty straight forward. Aladdin's dad comes strolling into some palace to go ape and start conquering and stealing shit. So Aladdin goes on his own little quest to grab something totally cool. He finds this magical dagger and comes back to show his dad the cool bling that he got. It is at this point that Jafar is like "Yo Sultan, I need that dagger." The sultan is like "Piss off bro! Let the kid have the dagger." Well the Dagger ends up going into the magic hour glass and ruining everything. So you have to play as Aladdin and get back to the hour glass and fix your giant mess up. On the way you meet Jasmine and she helps you get through the castle. But you don't really trust her because you just crapped all over her kingdom so she has no reason to help you. The two of you jump, swing and wall walk your way to the top of the tower to kill Jafar and live happily ever after.
